My name is Vallori Thomas, and I am the founder and ICF-certified coach of WOW Coaching and Consulting. In addition, I travel extensively to deliver keynote addresses, motivational speeches, and perception workshops.

A practitioner of Context Mastery, with a decade of experience in team/group dynamics, communication, and both one-to-one and group coaching, I have developed expertise in vision building and breakthrough learning. My coaching practice came about as a direct result of my own experiences and the need to reinvent myself.

Herstory

There was a time in my life when I couldn’t see possibility of any kind. Because I made poor choices as a young adult, I found myself alone and lost. Everything was gone: my home… my job… my family and friends.

I had lost respect for myself and everyone else. I had no self-esteem, and no hope. I was at rock bottom. I knew that wasn’t a place for me, but I didn’t know what to do about it. I lingered in limbo, and it cost me health, time, freedom and relationships. Sometimes the worst decision is making no decision at all.

Finally, I got to a point where I had to reset, and redefine myself. I decided that the same intensity of focus that got me to rock bottom could also be used to go after what I wanted. So I slowly began to rebuild my life, piece by piece.

One day, after having returned to the workforce, I had a conversation with a coworker, in which she asked: ‘What do you really want?’

The question stopped me dead in my tracks. I had to search deep within to see what was true for me. Who was I going to be and what did I want to do? I didn’t quite know the answer, but the question itself had me thinking about possibility. And THAT changed everything!

I started speaking about my ideas and desires as if they mattered. As a result, the people in my life began interacting with me as though I mattered. I surrounded myself with like-minded people for whom success was based on principles and values rather than possessions and titles.

With the help of a coach, I was able to see the vastness of possibilities ahead of me and to see the impact of having choices from an empowered perspective. I was becoming who I wanted to be.

Currently, I facilitate corporate trainings as well as adult and youth leadership development programs for Momentum Education and Aiming High Inc. in New York City, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Through leadership development trainings, personal coaching, speaking engagements, and a soon-to-be-released book called “It’s a Great Day to be Amazing,” I’m manifesting on a daily basis my mission to ignite possibility in others.

In 2003, I founded my own nonprofit organization, ‘Take Higher Ground,” that provides personal effectiveness and performance training to women seeking to re-enter the workforce following an institutional hiatus. I wanted to support women who were willing to find their way out of the place where I, too, had been.
